I am an Uber LOYALIST. In all caps. Seriously - check my profile now that you have insider access Been taking Uber for 5 years, since day 1 and maybe took a handful of Lyfts in that time. However I am super friendly and love talking to drivers, finding out about where they are from, why they drive for Uber, etc. This is also why I have a 4.9 rating after 5 years of constant use which is very hard to maintain So the not-talking part is not my reason for choosing Uber.
So why Uber over Lyft? Main reason: better drivers. Uber simply has much better supply, period. Better drivers, who make better $, have better cars, know the city better, all prefer Uber over Lyft. In the last ~2 years I have seen tons of drivers with both Uber and Lyft setups and they almost all day they make more $ on Uber and only switch to lyft in rare circumstances.
Plus Uber Pool runs laps around Lyft Line which is basically a joke.
